Kōwhai AI is an Auckland consultancy run by co-founders Gavin Sharkey and Bex MacPherson. It works with New Zealand organisations in three stages: AI strategy and governance, then automations, apps and agents, then a centre of excellence that maintains the models. The site names Microsoft Power Platform and Databricks as its partners, without a tier, and neither listing was confirmed with the vendor. Three clients give quotes on the site: RMG, ProCare and Lotto NZ. Only the Lotto NZ quote names the work, Azure Databricks cost control. None gives a figure. Sharkey spoke at the Aotearoa AI Summit in September 2025 and at a Ricoh and Microsoft event in November 2025. Nothing visible from the firm is dated later.
